Gold Coast

GOLD COAST HINTERLAND – THE GREEN BEHIND THE GOLD

Within 30 minutes beyond the bustling coastal strip lies the Gold Coast hinterland where Australia’s 6th largest city gives way to rugged mountain scenery, tumbling waterfalls, rainforest, wildflower heaths, tall open forests, picturesque creeks, and varied wildlife. It’s a photographer’s paradise.

Being one of the most biologically diverse regions in Australia, the hinterland’s densely forested McPherson Range is home to a host of beautiful wildlife and tropical plant species. From Tamborine Mountain in the north to Lamington and Springbrook National Parks in the south, there are many spectacular views and natural wonders on offer. Lamington national Park is the core of the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves Australia World Heritage Area along the Queensland-New South Wales border ranges. The park’s beautiful rainforests include the largest remnant in subtropical rainforest in the world and one of the most extensive Antarctic beech cool temperate rainforests in Australia.

There is much to see and photograph and to see it all would take several days. Depending on your holiday schedule, Brian will arrange tours to suit your interests. You can chose from a full day 4WD trip to Canungra, Beaudesert, O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat on the Lamington Plateau, then north to Tamborine Mountain and the beautiful Curtis Falls. Or you may prefer to do more bush walking than driving, more rainforests or more waterfalls. The choices are many. There are no set tours, the choice is yours. Just email or telephone Brian and he will listen to your needs and organise a memorable photographic tour for you.
